I'm too stunned to literalize my feelings right now. This was A GODDAMN HELL of a read. I was invested through the entirety of this book, every single page, every minute word- I spared none.

First of all, Avery Kylie Grambs is possibly the best-written female MC out there. Other than that, I was able to connect with her on a spiritual level. I felt what she felt, the intensity with which she felt, understood each one of her choices from the start to the end. Her passion for solving riddles and clues resonated with me to a great extent.

The romance? 10/10. Enjoyed reading every one of those moments with Jameson. Wished he was more serious about Avery though. Understood the complexities as well.

To summarize, I would recommend this to anyone who LOVES the trope of uncovering secrets and riddles and puzzles and clues, tied with mysterious historical events that hold value in the present. Also, it keeps you HOOKED and yearning for more. I've been reading all day! Would highly recommend for that adrenaline rush.

The only thing that kind of put me off was the ending. Let's just say I had way too high expectations, considering the initial half of the book was GOLD. And I certainly did not expect to be left with a cliffhanger. Anyhow, it was a very fun read overall, and I feel like that thrill of it all mattered more to me personally.

Will I read the next parts? HELL YES.

The Housemaid Is Watching by Freida McFadden My rating: 2 of 5 stars Have to say this was disappointing. I enjoyed the couple parts before this one dearly but this just wasn't it for me. Firstly, the insane amount of repetition of the same information bothered me so much. I cannot express the vehement frustration I felt reading about how her husband was insanely handsome, to such an extreme that she was used to women flirting with him, or how ill their financial condition was and the way they couldn't afford a thing, OR how everyone was just so tensed about her blood pressure problem. Second, I don't like how Millie has been dethroned from the title as the main character of the series, because why is Enzo the hero all of a sudden? The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden My rating: 4 of 5 stars Wow. I loved the plot and also was awe-struck by 'how I did not see it coming'. AT ALL. This one did not disappoint. The only part that might have bothered me is the ending, drawing attention to the mystery behind Tom's cognitive ability. His mind and psychological patterns seemed to be inconsistent through course of time, and this fact is entirely credited to his unhealthy love and attachment towards Daisy. Somewhere, it bothers me because this turns him into not the person he was in his childhood, who only did what he had to, to protect himself and his mother; but someone entirely different, a serial killer's lover and partner-in-crime. And it bothers me how even after all this, he renders his actions morally correct. What he did to his father was inevitable and necessary to some extent.
